The Paris Olympics, Formula One and the Paralympics are set to be shown on a big screen in Howard Davis Park this summer as part of an initiative to showcase sporting and cultural events.
After thousands of islanders visited the park’s family-friendly zone to watch the knock-out stages of the Euro 2024 football tournament, a new 'Summer in the Park' initiative has now been launched.
This will see the screen remain in situ for the summer holidays, with a range of events set to be broadcast for free.
The area around the screen – which is sponsored by JT – remains an alcohol-free zone.
Economic Development Minister Kirsten Morel said: “We hope everyone takes advantage of this wonderful opportunity to celebrate and connect throughout the summer season.
“We’re keen to hear from you – tell us what events you’d love to see and be part of shaping this fantastic summer programme.”

Pip Carpenter, Head of Consumer Markets and Community Partnerships at JT, said: “Watching the world’s sporting heroes break records and the biggest names in entertainment perform on the big screen will create an amazing atmosphere.
"These free events are open to everyone, islanders and visitors alike, so bring a picnic and let’s hope for great weather.”
