Islanders are being warned not to click on a Facebook post purporting to share "breaking news" of a "scandal" involving the Chief Minister.
The post, which contains the ITV News logo but appears to link to a South African website domain, includes an image of Deputy Kristina Moore accompanied by the caption: "BREAKING NEWS: Kristina Moore scandal shocked the whole country."
Government officials have reported the post to Facebook, but are warning any islanders who see it not to click on it.
"As with any fake post there is a risk it may link to malware, and islanders are urged not to click on any links," officials said.
