A 36-year-old man has been arrested in Guernsey on suspicion of making, or possessing, explosive substances.
Specialists from the British Army and UK police were brought over to assist local officers in safely removing a number of different chemicals from a property on Brock Road last week (7 June).
"Officers have been working with specialists from the British Army and UK policing as part of an operation focused on a property on the Grange/Brock Road junction," Guernsey Police explained in a statement.
"This property was known to contain a number of different chemicals, and the specialists from the UK were assisting our officers to assess what, if any, risk they presented, and to safely remove them. The work was carried out safely and without incident.
"A 36-year-old man linked to the property was arrested this morning on suspicion of making, or possession of, explosive substances under suspicious circumstances. Enquiries are ongoing.”
