Car crash victim remains in critical condition

Tuesday 18 April 2017

A 18-year-old driver involved in a car crash over the Easter weekend remains in critical but stable condition after he was flown to Southampton Hospital.

One of the passengers, a boy aged 18, remains at the General Hospital in stable and comfortable condition. The two other passengers, aged 18 and 17, were discharged Monday.

Police say the accident happened at around 23.00 on Sunday. The four males were subsequently brought to the Emergency Department between 00:00 and 01:00.

The vehicle involved, a blue Peugeot 106, is believed to have been traveling south along the Five Mile Road, between El Tico and Le Braye Cafe.

Officers have already taken statements from a number of witnesses but would like to speak to anyone who was in the area and saw the Peugeot.

In addition, officers are also requesting anyone who has CCTV on their nearby premises to get in touch so that they can take a look at the footage.
