A vintage bone china tea set estimated to be from the 1950s has been rediscovered by an avid thrifter who wants to share the joy of second-hand shopping.
Bargain enthusiast Fiona Walker recently set up social media pages under the name 'Upstylejersey24' to showcase interesting items found and encourage islanders to do their own digging for treasure to support good causes.
Express is partnering with her to showcase her favourite bargains each week...
This week’s top find was a 22-piece Royal Albert Gossamer tea set from the 1950s found in the Hospice Superstore in St Ouen.

Fiona said: “This Royal Albert Gossamer set is definitely my cup of tea!
“Each cup and saucer is a different pastel shade with a marbled effect and a stylish gold trim.
“It recalls an era long gone, of elegant tea parties with cucumber sandwiches and Earl Grey, sitting under a shady parasol on the lawn!”

After some research about the Royal Albert company, Express discovered that it was founded in England in 1904 and named after Prince Albert – who became King George VI in 1936.
The design of tea set that Fiona found in the Hospice Shop this week was in production from the 1950s to 1970s.
A smaller six-piece set of the same design is for sale online for £70.
The Royal Albert manufacturers are still producing various styles of tea sets today.
