What would be your slogan for St. John?

Sunday 27 June 2021

St. John is asking parishioners to think about what the parish means to them, and capture it in a new slogan.

The contest was launched to mark St. John’s Day on Thursday, with islanders young and old invited to enter.

“This year sees all parishes celebrate the centenary of the Parish emblem and we are now looking to add to this with the addition of a slogan that can be used on the website and social media platforms,” Constable Andy Jehan said.

The parish will also be launching an ‘adopt a lane' scheme, which encourages parishioners to look after a chosen green lane by picking up litter there.

Co-ordinated by parishioner Natalie Smart, it will be launched on Sunday at the parish clean-up starting at 10:00.

Constable Jehan added: “This is one of our Community and Environmental initiatives, we are also encouraging people to participate in our doorstep recycling scheme I have been really encouraged with the amount of people who are showing an interest in getting more involved within the Parish, and look forward to launching further initiatives in the coming weeks.”

The closing date for the competition will be 18 July, and entries can be sent to suggestions@posj.gov.je
