Tuesday 28 April 2020

A care home resident in their 80s is the latest islander to have passed away with covid-19.

It brings the total number of islanders whose deaths have been linked with the virus to 20.

10 of the group are officially confirmed to have had the illness, while the other 10 have been registered as "probable covid-19" cases.

Most islanders have passed away in hospital - nine in the Jersey General Hospital, and two in St. Saviour - while eight have died in care homes. All were over the age of 60.

Meanwhile, the number of islanders currently being treated for the virus in hospital has reduced to 10.

185 islanders are deemed to have recovered from the illness.
