Crash driver arrested on suspicion of being "unfit through drugs"

A 44-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of driving after taking drugs, following a crash on St. Saviour's Hill.

The collision took place near to Grainville school around 16:10 on Saturday (30 November).

Detailing what happened in an appeal for more information, Police explained: "The collision involved a blue Ford Focus driven by a 44-year-old man, and a silver Land Rover Defender driven by 56-year-old man.

"Neither driver sustained any serious injuries as a result of the collision.

"The driver of the Ford Focus was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs."

The Ford Focus driver has since been released on police bail.

Police are now urging anyone "who may have seen the accident or the vehicles prior to it, has dash cam or CCTV footage, or who has any other information" to contact them on 612612. Anonymous reports can also be made via the Crimestoppers website.
