Customs have seized 600g of 'Magic Dinosaurs' chocolates – advertised as "100% roar cocoa chocolate" – laced with Class A hallucinogenic drugs.
The brightly coloured packages which were labelled "organic, vegan, and gluten-free" in fact contained Psilocin and Psilocybin, hallucinogenic drugs present in 'magic mushrooms'.
Jersey Customs and Immigration Service said that the chocolates were contained in what appeared to be ‘off the shelf’ brightly coloured commercial packaging labelled ‘Magic Dinosaurs’.
Pictured: Each package contained 50g of chocolate.
"The packaging makes no reference to a dangerous controlled drug and could have been mistaken for genuine sweets or chocolates," they added.
Customs Senior Manager Luke Goddard said that "this is the first seizure of this type we have made".
"It raises real concerns that they could be consumed by someone believing them to be normal sweets, unaware they contain a dangerous hallucinogenic," he explained.
"More concerning is that the brightly coloured packaging and the chocolates themselves being in the shape of dinosaurs will be particularly attractive to children.”
