Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist has been taken to hospital with "potentially serious injuries" after being hit by a car outside the Grand Hotel yesterday.
Police officers were called at 15:12 about the collision, which saw the 33-year-old knocked off her pink bicycle by a silver VW Golf on the pedestrian crossing between La Fregate and the hotel.
Roads were closed and traffic diverted while Police officers and paramedics attended.

The 25-year-old car driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
However, he was later shown not to be over the legal limit and de-arrested.
"Due to current covid-procedures we are unable to conduct roadside breath tests so must arrest if there is any suspicion of alcohol consumption and use the machine in the station. This has shown that this individual was under the limit."
Police are now urging anyone who saw the accident or has any further information to get in touch.
