Changes to the quarantine rules for passengers arriving from different parts of the UK have been delayed until this Wednesday.
The UK regions were due to be reclassified today but this has been put back to help people adjust to the new measures.
A Government spokesman said: “Following advice from public health officials, and looking at the pattern of the arrivals scheduled on Monday morning, there is a risk that implementing a new quarantine policy of this scale, over the weekend, would create a level of undue distress or harm that could disproportionately affect older travellers who may not have had time to amend their plans.
“All classifications for the UK regions, correct as of today, will remain within this colour code until Wednesday night. This will give the Government and industry more time to communicate changes to returning Islanders and visitors alike. The regional classifications for inbound travellers for Germany and Italy will not be affected."
