Did you spot the dog attacking livestock?

Monday 04 January 2016

Police want to hear from any dog walkers who saw a brown dog attacking livestock in St Brelade this weekend.

A flock of geese and some ducks were set upon by the dog on Sunday afternoon in the area of Oak Lane and Mont Es Croix, leaving some bleeding badly.

Police believe three people were in charge of the dog at the time, two adults - one a woman, and a child and they think the dog may have been a spaniel.

In a posting on social media the farmers said it's not the first time their animals have been attacked and have appealed for help to find out who owns the dog. They say that geese and ducks were badly hurt and had received attention for bite wounds.

The post said that even when confronted, the woman walking the dog didn't seem to care about what had happened.

The Facebook post stated: "Two kind men on bicycles stopped and shouted to her across the field as she walked off ignoring all responsibility and obviously didn't care what her dog had done. This is disgusting that she would not even stop and walked off when they tried to approach her about it."

If you saw the attack, give the Police a call on 612612.
