Can you help Jersey Police identify the man in this CCTV footage following an attempted armed robbery at the Co-op in Val Plaisant on Sunday morning?

Police have now issued a video and a still image of the attempted robbery in the hope that witnesses will come forward. The attempted robbery happened at around 8 am yesterday morning at the store when a knife-wielding man with his face covered approached a member of staff and demanded cash, according to Detective Inspector Stephen Langford.

Other customers and staff were in the supermarket at the time but no one was hurt and no cash was stolen.

Detectives have been speaking to a number of witnesses and are reviewing CCTV of the incident.

The offender's face isn't clear in the camera footage but the Police hope someone will recognise his very distinctive top.

A man was arrested near the Coop shortly after the incident but has now been released pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the CID office on 61220 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
