A female driver has suffered serious injuries after a collision on St Saviour’s Hill this morning.
The incident happened at 8.10am as Jersey Fire and Rescue Service received an emergency call saying a car was on fire.
Firefighters at the scene quickly extinguished the fire, with the car having suffered severe damage after hitting a pillar leading into St Saviour’s Parish Hall car park.
Police closed off the area and fire crews lifted the injured driver from the car before she was transported by ambulance to Jersey General Hospital.
Watch Commander Richard Ryan said “At this time the casualty’s injuries are believed to be serious and the road has been closed to allow the Police to carry out their investigations in to the cause of the accident.”
