First Tesla solar batteries installed in Jersey

Saturday 04 November 2017

Local solar experts Sun Works (C.I) Ltd have successfully installed the first Tesla Powerwall 2 solar batteries in Jersey.

The Tesla Powerwall charges with energy produced by solar panels and also has future capability to enable back up energy supplies during grid outages.

It was installed at the home of Dr. Andrew Mitchell, a Consultant Cardiologist at Jersey General Hospital and will make energy available when needed, day or night.

As an approved supplier of Tesla products in the Channel Islands, Sun Works work with local homeowners, businesses and utilities to use Tesla energy products to reliably increase their renewable energy consumption and foster a clean energy ecosystem.

Mark Brandon, owner and Managing Director of Sun Works, said: "It was a pleasure to work on this project for Dr. Mitchell, as like us, he is really passionate about renewable, clean energy and utilizing the natural sunlight we are lucky to have in abundance in Jersey. We cannot recommend highly enough the Tesla products for installations such as this, as not only are they the best available on the market, but they also give the owner more energy independence."

Dr. Mitchell commented: "With a growing interest in renewable energy, we purchased a Tesla Powerwall 2 home battery to enable us to self-power our home. We are very grateful to the team at Sun Works for helping us start on our sustainable energy journey and hope this inspires other people locally to think more about where their energy comes from."
