Ernie’s Agricultural Trade Centre are putting on a Tug of War competition to raise money for Jersey Hospice Care.
Up to 16 teams of five men will be competing today at the trade centre St. John between 10:00 and 16:00 in a bid to bring 'tug of war' back to the Island.
Other entertainment during what is promised to be a "fun family day out" include crafts, stalls, children's face painting and bouncy castles.
Matt Maughan from Ernie’s said: "We are proud to be bringing Tug of War back! Jersey has a proud history with Tug of War and we are really looking forward to hosting this event. Although the competition will be the main focus for the day we have arranged plenty of family fun entertainment for the day as well. It is all free of charge and all in aid of the fantastic Jersey Hospice Care. We hope to raise a large sum of money for the great work that Jersey Hospice Care does."
The team at Ernie's has been training hard for the event and others are encouraged to do so as well as the top prize is £1,000 worth of in store credit. The second and the third strongest team will also get a prize.
There are still a couple of spaces for teams, which must consist of five men and costs £50.00. For further information or to enter a team, teams are asked to contact Matt at Ernie's.
All proceedings will go to Jersey Hospice Care, a specialist palliative care service, providing holistic care for patients with any life limiting condition.
