Jersey's Fire and Rescue Service has pulled four men to safety, after they got into trouble on the rocks at Greve De Lecq this afternoon.
The alarm was raised just before lunchtime, when another member of the group managed to get off the rocks and swim back to the beach to alert the lifeguards. He was then able to guide the rescue team back to his friends.
The Fire and Rescue Service dispatched a rope rescue crew and the inshore rescue boat, and the St. Catherine’s Lifeboat was also at the scene.
The Fire service was able to land one of its crew on to the rocks to help the men from the cave to the outer rocks. Eventually all four men were rescued from the rocks and safely transported back to shore with only minor scrapes and bruises. All four men are described as being fit and healthy and had been wearing wet suits.
Commander Mark Wallker said: “Some excellent team work between the coastguard, RNLI Life Guards, RNLI St. Catherine’s Life Boat and the Fire and Rescue service resulted in a positive outcome for this incident.”
