Most people have their own idea of what should become of the Fort…but ‘destroyed by aliens’ is unlikely to one of them.
Yet those who would prefer the ‘razing-to-the-ground’ option might want to head up to Glencoe today to bid for this unusual print.
With no discernible signature, it is unclear who created ‘Mars Attacks Fort Regent’, although the print appears to be a Major Incident Report from something called the United Defence Agency, which indicates that this particular assault on the Fort by laser-firing spaceships and a giant robot led to 37 casualties.
It was, however, a tragic case of mistaken identity, presumably after the alien pilot mistook the iconic dome for an enemy craft.
Pictured: The unusual print is expected to reach between £80 and £100 at auction today.
The painting is lot 402 at Simon Drieu’s weekly auction and has a pre-sale estimate of £80-£120, with the auction starting at 11:00 live in St. Lawrence and online.
