Staff at two major Jersey hotels are due to receive a £3 per hour pay rise to help them with the cost of living crisis.
HandPicked Hotels, which operates 22 country house and spa hotels in the UK and the Channel Islands, has implemented the pay rise for every employee.
In Jersey, that includes staff at the Grand Hotel and Spa, and the L'Horizon Hotel.
The £3 per hour pay increase is equivalent to a 30% pay rise at the lowest pay levels.

Julia Hands MBE, Chairman and CEO of HandPicked, said that the pay rise was "to help our staff through the cost of living crisis" and "in recognition of their amazing efforts in working so diligently to welcome back our guests as we reopened when covid restrictions were lifted."
Alongside the pay rise, she also pledged to "invest even more in training for our people."
It follows the example of numerous businesses in the British Isles in response to the cost of living crisis, both hospitality and other sectors.

The Eden Hotel Collection gave its employees a 14% pay rise in July this year.
NatWest, which has offices in Jersey and Guernsey, gave all full-time workers on a salary of less than £36,000 a 4% rise.
