Health executive gets top job with St. Helier

Friday 10 August 2018

The Deputy Chief Officer and Director of Finance and Information at Health and Social Services is taking up a new post as St. Helier’s Chief Executive Officer.

Jason Turner fought off more than a dozen other candidates, and will take up the post in October.

For the past 15 years parts of the job has been covered by the Constable, Simon Crowcroft. But he believes “it is the right time to employ an appropriately qualified and experienced local professional to fulfil the role.”

He’s pledged that staff costs won’t rise as a result of the appointment but will be covered by savings elsewhere.

The parish has an annual turnover in excess of £15m, and a workforce of more than 250 people.

According to the job advertisement the role of the Chief Executive Officer is to be “responsible for the strategic leadership and management of all parish-run services within St Helier”, and to liaise closely with the Constable.
