A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of motoring offences after a "hit and run" wall crash on Old Beaumont Hill.
Police said the green car collided with the wall near the top of the hill outside Le Vieux Villas on Monday 8 June.
Describing the "hit and run" incident in an appeal for witnesses, they explained: "A green BMW collided with a wall near the top of Old Beaumont Hill outside Le Vieux Villas, causing significant damage to the front of the car.
"It appears that another driver got out of his car to speak to the driver of the green BMW at the time and police would very much like to speak with this person."
The force added: "A 37-year-old man was arrested for motoring offences, but has since been released on police bail whilst enquiries continue."
Anyone who saw what happened or who has more information is urged to call 612612 or make an anonymous report via the Crimestoppers website.
