Friday 15 October 2021

An islander was reportedly attacked in their home by an intruder wearing a bucket hat who broke in via his first-floor balcony, Police have said in an appeal for witnesses.

Officers said the alleged attack took place around 01:00 on Sunday (10 October) at a private address in the vicinity of the Lower Park (West Park) on La Route de St. Aubin.

Explaining the reported sequence of events, they said: “A man entered a property via a first floor balcony and was confronted by the home owner before assaulting him. The homeowner sustained some minor injuries.”

“This man is described as about 6ft tall, with a pale complexion and an English accent. He was wearing dark clothing with a black hat with a soft top and floppy brim, also known as a ‘bucket’-style hat."

The Force now wants to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has more information, as well as those with private CCTV of the area.

They should call Police on 612612 or make an anonymous report using Crimestoppers’ website.
