A husband-and-wife team have been named as the new co-chief executives of the Jersey Hospitality Association.
Ana and Marcus Calvani are taking over from Claire Boscq, who announced she was stepping down as Chief Executive Officer in July.
Mr and Mrs Calvani will split their time leading the industry body that represents over 300 businesses and continuing to run their hospitality businesses.
Mr Calvani founded the BeServed Group, co-owned with his wife, which comprises JBs Brewhouse, The Lido at Havre des Pas and The Jersey Royal Distillery Company. He also co-founded the Bliss Brewing Company.
A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hospitality Management, Mr Calvani was a board member of the JHA between 2009 and 2016 and served as Vice President between 2016 and 2019.
Born in Bucharest, Mrs Calvani moved to the USA in her early teens. She is bilingual and has a degree is hospitality and business management from the University of Central Florida. She has worked for large international companies including Starwood and Disney, before starting her own business at the age of 26 in the finance sector in Orlando.

Moving to the island with her Jersey-born husband, Ana worked as an opening manager for Waitrose, for Back to Work focusing on hospitality, and then more recently, has marketed and event-managed the Lido at Havre des Pas.
Tim Hubert, Chair of the JHA Committee, said: “Ana and Marcus have been in hospitality for most of their adult lives, working in Jersey and overseas. Their years of experience, including working together, will strengthen the JHA and boost support for our members.
“The Co-CEO model might be new to the JHA, but it has worked well in organisations around the world which have embraced the ‘two heads are better than one’ approach.
“I am really excited about how Ana and Marcus are planning to combine their ability and experience, taking the JHA forward by building relationships and providing support to our members.
“The industry is continuing to face difficulties from a lack of staff to rising costs and I am sure they will welcome Ana and Marcus who are eager to work with them and represent their interests when working with Government and other bodies.”
