Investigation continues after man found dead in parked car in St Mary

Tuesday 03 May 2016

Police investigating the death of a 41-year-old man found in the back of a parked car in St Mary on Saturday are expecting an expert pathologist from the UK to arrive today to carry out a post-mortem exam.

The man has been identified as Jonathan Lucas Ambrose.

He was found in the back of his car at around 9.40 pm, parked at a private residence in St Mary.

Police say that he had been walking in the area around St Mary’s Parish Hall and the school in the two hours before he died.

In an update statement yesterday, Detective Inspector Stephen Langford of the Criminal Investigation Department confirmed that the investigation was continuing.

He said: “A report is being prepared for the Deputy Viscount and arrangements are now in hand for a Home Office Pathologist to travel to the Island today for a Post Mortem.

“Family Liaison Officers continue to support his partner and family.”

Police have issued a description of Mr Ambrose and asked anyone with any information to get in touch with them.

They say that he is believed to have been walking  on his own in the area of St Marys’ Parish Hall and the parish school between around 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm on Saturday.

Mr Ambrose was described as being around five feet ten inches tall, with short red hair. At the time, he was wearing blue jeans and a navy polo shirt – and was possibly either wearing or carrying a red hoodie and a blue jacket.

If anyone has any information, they should get in touch with the police on 612612.
