Jersey to Belfast City flights returning after 10 years

A new route will be running next year between Jersey and Belfast City Airport.

Operated by Aer Lingus, the service will run twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 6 May, offering around 6,000 seats throughout the summer.

"It is a great vote of confidence in our future that airlines are offering new routes and improving our connectivity," Ports of Jersey CEO Matt Thomas said.

"We already have a successful link with Dublin, and this route will strengthen our connections and expand travel options for both islanders and visitors."

Economic Development Minister Deputy Kirsten Morel said the link would not only offer opportunities for holidays and family visits, but also "enable island businesses to explore new opportunities."

Ciarán Smith, Head of Commercial at Emerald Airlines, which operates Aer Lingus Regional Services, said it was anticipated that the new routes will be "popular amongst those travelling for both business and leisure purposes, and we look forward to providing that increased connectivity to and from Belfast."
