Jersey FA have teamed up with a club in Southampton to help develop kids football here.

The partnership with Southampton FC Saints Foundation has already given youngsters the chance to get some practise in over Easter and there will be another football course kicking off at Springfield Stadium in the Summer holidays.

Jersey FA Community Coach (5-11’s) Daniel Seviour said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for all involved and it’s great to have a relationship built with Southampton FC Saints Foundation that will give children the chance to participate in two holiday course’s each year run by highly experienced and qualified coaches.”

Southampton FC Saints Foundation's Football Development Manager Andy Martino said: "Myself and three Saints Foundation coaches had a very enjoyable time in Jersey working with the local children. The sessions were aimed around our own curriculum that we deliver back on the mainland. It was a great opportunity to not only work with these children but also to see the technical quality and standards of these players.

"The Jersey FA Community Team were very enthusiastic and showed what a strong team the Jersey FA has now employed. I am looking forward to working more closely with the team and sharing knowledge and ideas on how we develop and coach young players 'The Southampton Way'."

Southampton FC Saints Foundation's next football course is running from 8 August until 12 August and you can find out more here.

The Jersey FA Community Team also runs PE sessions in Schools, after-school Skill Sessions, Free Fun Nights for Girls and Fun Weeks during school holidays.
