Jersey FA will face football giants such as Spain, Brazil, and England in the inaugural Walking Football World Cup this summer - and will no doubt go up against some familiar faces in world football with each nation allowed three ex-professional players on their team.
The event will be held in August at the English Football Association's national football centre, St. George's Park in Staffordshire.
Walking football is still a relatively new form of the game, encouraging older adults or those with injuries the opportunity to either get back into the sport or continue playing later into life.
The local squad is due to be selected in the next eight weeks to give the team ample time to prepare.

Jersey FA CEO, David Kennedy said: "This is a huge opportunity for us but one we can really look forward to.
"The standard of football being played in our Santander Walking Football League has improved each year and the chance to play in the World Cup has certainly got the players excited."
He added: "We would love to hear from anyone who may wish to sponsor the squad as the costs to get us to the competition are quite significant."

Federation of International Walking Football Associations, CEO Paul Carr said: "We look forward to welcoming Jersey to this inaugural Walking Football World Cup, being held at the prestigious St. George's Park in England.
"We hope all games will be streamed live to maximise exposure for this wonderful sport that provides fun, friendship and fitness to the many thousands who are playing in the 60+ countries around the world."
