The CEO of Jersey Water has advised islanders to adopt eco-friendly habits to help keep their bills down, as he announced a price rise of 3p per day.
The tariff change will come into force in April, and see water bills increase by £10.95 per year.
The increase is in line with the latest 2.7% rise in RPI (a measure of the cost of living) in September 2019.
Announcing the changes, CEO Helier Smith said that Jersey Water works hard to "limit the impact of continuous and significant upward inflationary cost pressures on customer bills", while attempting to enhance the quality of the water supply, which he described as "very high" in 2019.

Looking to 2020, he added that the company's energy would be focused on "finalising" a plan to manage potential future water shortages.
But he said that islanders don't need to wait for the plan to be released "to begin the journey to becoming more water-efficient".
Not only would adopting water-saving habits protect the local supply, particularly in a context of climate change, but also help them reduce costs, he explained: "...It is clear that the effects of climate change and population growth will have a dramatic effect on water resources both in Jersey and across the world.
"There has never been a more compelling time for us all to become more aware of the water we consume, the ways in which we can minimise wasted water and reduce our consumption.
"Doing so will help keep bills down for customers and help ensure the long-term sustainability of the water supply upon which we all rely."
