Jersey demand sees Jet2 add more flights

Saturday 21 August 2021

Jet2 has extended its routes to two UK destinations in response to demand from customers wanting a break in Jersey.

The operator has added extra flights and extended its season from two UK bases, Leeds Bradford and Newcastle, with weekly Saturday services for each now being offered until mid-October.

The latter was one of the five new routes added when Jet2 previously expanded its Jersey programme for summer 2021.

“As a destination on the Green List, Jersey is continuing to enjoy a huge amount of demand from our customers and once again we are responding quickly to that demand by giving holidaymakers even more choice and flexibility," CEO Steve Heapy said.

Ports of Jersey CEO Matt Thomas added: "It’s encouraging to see high demand across all its Jersey routes this summer and in particular those from Leeds and Newcastle," he said.

"We welcome... announcement that these two services are being extended into October and look forward to welcoming more tourists to the island."

Visit Jersey CEO Amanda Burns described the announcement as "very positive", adding that it demonstrates "the growing appeal of Jersey and the variety of unique experiences that are available on our island throughout the year".
