Budding artists or craftworkers who have never shown their work publicly are being given the opportunity to 'start out' through a brand new exhibition, at no cost.
Art in the Frame Foundation are looking for around 10 local artists to take part in “Starting Out” from 28 March to 8 April.
The exhibition will open on 28 March and run until 8 April at The Harbour Gallery, in St. Aubin.
The team at the gallery hopes that 'Starting Out' will be a first ‘step up the ladder’ in the participants' artistic career. They are looking for artists who show inspired design and commitment to their work, in the areas of painting, sculpture, 3D, fashion, jewellery, photography, textiles and others.

Artists have until 17:00 tomorrow to apply to feature in the exhibition by sending a description of your work as well as images.
Pat Robson, the gallery's manager, said that, Islands Foundation, participating artists will neither have to pay fees to exhibit, nor will commissions be taken on sales.
She added: "We felt that it would be good to encourage artists who perhaps are nervous about getting themselves out into the art scene, who might like to discuss their work, be supported, having the opportunity to exhibit without any sales/commission and PR costs, be part of a group exhibition and therefore meet and talk to other artists at the same level as them."
