Hundreds of Islanders are expected to descend on the tax office at Cyril Le Marquand House today so as to avoid the possibility of a £250 fine for failing to file their tax details on time.
It’s estimated there are 12,000 outstanding forms. The tax department fear as many as 7,000 islanders could miss the deadline, which could mean £1,750,000 in late payment fines.
The deadline for returns is 18:00.
Staff have been redeployed to handle the last minute rush and special drop off boxes have been set up so you don’t need to see a counter assistant.
