Aspiring graffiti artists will get the chance to have one-on-one tuition with graffiti artist Stephen Lamb next weekend.
With over a decade of graffiti experience under his belt, Stephen is offering people the chance to get creative and gain some valuable tips about graffiti art at St. Andrew's Church on Saturday.
Starting from 10:00 at St. Andrew's Church, participants will be taught about letter formation, sketching and spray painting, whilst being guided on how to develop their own unique artistic style. Lamb explained: “People can expect to have fun, to sketch their name on paper and to have plenty of practice with a spray can, leading up to producing their final piece – painted onto a canvas.”

Graffiti has been Stephen's passion for a number of years: “I was always keen on doing art at school and in my early teens, I became fascinated by graffiti art and began sketching my name and words onto paper. It didn't occur to me that I could use spray paint until I met a friend when I was about 20 years old who was a graffiti artist.
“To my surprise, my parents allowed me to paint on the back of their garage wall and that's where my love for graffiti began.”
Hoping to inspire some people to take up the art, he added: “I made a lot of mistakes and almost gave up until a friend gave me some advice and encouragement. Now I want to pass on what I've learnt.”

Discussing his hopes for the day, Stephen said: “People will have fun, feel comfortable to make mistakes, learn lots from painting and chatting with other people and will take home a graffiti canvas which they are proud of!”
