A Level grades improved last year for both boys and girls, the Education department have revealed, with a combined pass rate of 98.9%.
The average grade for the 2014/2015 group of students taking A Level exams was a B-, according to stats released by the department.
And they say that the proportion of students staying on for A Levels and the average results, including the results at top grades, was higher than in the UK.
The statistics show:
- Boys for an average of 222.2 points at A Level, compared to 235.2 for girls, and both were higher than the previous year.
- The average point score as a grade for boys was C+, and the average grade for girls was a B.
- One-in-ten pupils attained three A* to A grades.
- Last year, 263 girls and 209 boys took A Level exams.
