A lifeboat was called out to the Minquiers yesterday evening after an 11-metre rib carrying four people became swamped on the sand bank.
The Jersey Lifeboat Association said the pumping capabilities of their all-weather lifeboat meant the rib was able to be salvaged and taken back to St. Helier.
The four passengers were picked up by the motor yacht Coral Bay.
The JLA have since been praised for their efforts on social media, with one islander commenting: "Great work, and I'm sure the rib owners will be very thankful the boat was saved!"
Another said: "Great job! Saw you head out and back. Very efficient, very effective. Lucky to have such skilled crew and equipment."
