Lottery hits the £1m mark

Thursday 08 December 2016

It could be a very merry Christmas for one lucky Islander this year - the top prize in the Channel Islands' lottery has hit a cool £1million, and it looks set to beat last year's figure.

There are still just under two weeks to go, so the jackpot will certainly reach even higher, meaning someone's about to have a very happy New Year.

The draw will take place on 20 December 2016, and all proceeds will go to local good causes.

Last year, the jackpot topped out at £1,161,750, with £100,000 second prize and £25,000 third prize - there were also 10 prizes of £1,000 available.

The current jackpot for this year, so far, stands at £1,003,000.

Each ticket costs two pounds, and has two numbers entered into the draw.
