Drugs worth thousands of pounds were seized yesterday in a joint operation by the States of Jersey Police and Jersey Customs.
Two arrests were made, and drugs – believed to be heroin – with a street value of around £56,000 were seized. The police would not release further details this morning, other than to say that the operation took place in Trinity yesterday afternoon.
Police will be interviewing the two people arrested – one a 40-year-old man and the other a 25-year-old woman – today, and they say that their investigation, codenamed Operation Malone, continues.
The operation is the first major drugs seizure of the year.
