A 28-year-old man accused of grave and criminal assault against a woman is to face trial in the Royal Court.

Joshua Clark Lyons appeared in the the Royal Court on Friday, before Bailiff Timothy Le Cocq, sitting with Lieutenant Bailiff Collette Crill and Jurat Robert Christensen MBE.

Represented by Advocate David Steenson, he pleaded not guilty to one charge of grave and criminal assault in St. Helier on 4 August this year.

He will reappear in the Royal Court for a pre-trial review on 16 November.

He has been granted conditional bail in the meantime.
