Man admits multiple driving offences and trying to contact witness

A man who committed multiple motoring offences - including driving without a licence or insurance, drink-driving and dangerous driving - has been remanded in custody after pleading guilty in the Royal Court.

Nicholas Paul Brown (32) also admitted trying to pervert the course of justice by telephoning a witness while in prison and trying to get her to change her evidence against him.

In total, Brown pleaded guilty to 14 offences in the Royal Court on Friday. These included driving without insurance or a licence and using a mobile phone on 7 December last year and 2 July.

However, most offences were committed on 22 August when Brown was caught causing malicious damage to another car, driving dangerously, drink-driving, driving uninsured, without a licence, and with faulty brakes and an illegal rear tyre.

Then, between 31 August and 3 September, he perverted the course of justice by trying to contact the owner of the car he damaged from HMP La Moye.

Brown was remanded in custody until sentencing on 8 January.
