A man in his 20s grabbed another man in his 30s by the throat during a daytime fight in town, Police said.

The younger man is alleged to have assaulted the other behind Boots on Hilgrove Street last Thursday around 15:00.

The alleged attacker, who was apparently known to the other man, was then said to have walked in the direction of McDonald's after the altercation.
