Police are hunting for witnesses after an islander reported seeing a man grabbing a young boy by his neck and holding him against a wall in Colomberie.
Officers said in an appeal for more information that the alleged assault took place outside Star Stores on Saturday (27 November) around 19:30.
“A woman with two young children and a man were seen together in the street when the man was seen to grab one of the children aged approximately 9-10 years old and hold him against a wall by his neck,” they explained.
“The man then left with another woman and walked in the direction of Snow Hill, whilst the woman and the two children walked off towards Howard Davis Park
“It is believed that all involved are known to each other.”
