A 25-year-old tractor driver has been taken to hospital after a dramatic crash that saw 60 litres of oil slick a St. Mary road this afternoon.
The tractor - a Massey Fergusson 5455 - sustained significant damage in the La Rue de la Frontiere collision and the road will remain closed until it is lifted onto a recovery vehicle.
The tractor's hydraulic pump was damaged in the accident and approximately 60 litres of oil leaked out onto the roadway. Firefighters used environmental protection mats to soak up the oil.
Motorists are requested to avoid the area of La Rue de La Frontiere in St Mary (travels between St Mary's village and Tamba Park). Officers are dealing with a road traffic collision.
