If you've had enough of hearing about the prospective senatorial candidates' thoughts on law and order, immigration, and the economy, hopefully Bailiwick Express's 'meet the candidates' survey can add a lighter side to the election.
We've been asking the would be politicians what they like to eat and drink, what they read, and watch, and perhaps most interestingly who they'd vote for if they couldn't vote for themselves. Read on....
What one thing would you do to improve life in Jersey?
Cut taxes. Let the people keep their hard earned cash and spend it on what they choose to spend it on rather than hand it over to government who will probably waste it.
What’s your favourite place in Jersey?
St Ouen’s Bay. Because of the open space and the rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
What’s your favourite meal?
Seafood. Lobster and crab especially.
What’s your favourite pizza topping?
Margarita. A loverly rich tomato sauce with a little mozzarella cheese and a touch of garlic chilli oil.
What’s your favourite drink?
Sweet Martini and lemonade, Ice and lemon. The taste of summer sunshine.
What’s your favourite song?
It’s a Beautiful Day, sung by Michael Buble. Makes you feel good, up-lifting, full of life.
What’s your favourite book?
The Secret Garden. One of the first books I read as a child.
What’s your favourite film?
Beaches. A very moving story of two life-long good friends.
If you were an animal what would you be?
A tiger. Beautifully powerful and majestic.
Who would you like to be stuck in a lift with, and why?
President John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States of America. I would ask him how different the world would be today if he had survived his assassination.
Who would you hate to be stuck in a lift with, and why?
A career politician. No sense of humour, would talk a lot about nothing because they like the sound of their own voice.
Who would you vote for in this election if you couldn’t vote for yourself.
No one.
Tomorrow - Mary O'Keeffe-Burgher.
Tonight's Hustings - Thursday 18th August - St Lawrence - 19:30.
