Friday 24 November 2017

Police are hunting a moped driver who rode the wrong way up a road, and ran through several red lights, before crashing into a car.

The incident occurred between 19:30 and 20:10 last Friday.

Police reported that the moped was ridden against the flow of traffic along Halkett Place, before turning onto Minden Place.

It was later spotted on James Street and Don Road, and proceeded to run through various red traffic lights at the Don Road junction by the Mornington Hotel.

It then crashed into a car on the junction of St Clement Road and La Colomberie.

Police are now looking to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, as well as the driver of a dark SUV stopped at the traffic lights at the bottom of Mont Millais.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 612612 or anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
