More cancellations for Condor Liberation

Friday 30 October 2015

More maintenance work led to Condor Liberation cancelling sailings today and yesterday ahead of the Clipper going out of action for six weeks starting next week.

Condor informed travellers yesterday that routine maintenance had found a fault that meant Liberation's sailings had to be cancelled - this morning they updated that to say the complexity of the work meant that today's sailings had to be cancelled too.

Four sailings between the Jersey, Guernsey and the UK were all cancelled today and yesterday – Condor say that passengers who had booked on the sailings will be able to travel on the Clipper, and that an extra freight service will run on Sunday to relieve some of the pressure.

Next Wednesday the Clipper is due to go out of action until 14 December for work to make sure that pollution-reducing scrubbers will comply with EU regulations to reduce sulphur emissions.

That work was initially meant to be carried out last month, but there was a problem over the supply of specialist parts.
