'Mother Earth' for sale as owners retire after 30 years

One of town's more quirky businesses is up for sale as the owners look to retire after almost three decades of trading, and go travelling.

The Mother Earth gift shop has been a much-loved feature of St. Helier for many years, famed for its eye-catching displays, colourful clothing, and jewellery.

However, after almost 30 years of trading, owners Trish and Paul are putting their business up for sale in order to retire and explore the world.

In a post on Facebook, which attracted hundreds of likes and comments, the couple explained that they have "decided to retire and get on with more travelling, meeting new people and enjoying more cultures whilst we are still young, fit and able to do so".

Thanking their customers for the "support and loyalty over the years", Trish and Paul described their time running Mother Earth as a "long, fun and fulfilling journey".

The pair noted that they "will be around for a while yet" and the shop is still open as normal, but confirmed that they are "actively seeking someone to take it over and enjoy its success and pleasure for many years to come".
