Police have opened a murder investigation after a 68-year-old woman died of stab wounds in St Peter.
A 40-year-old man was arrested and is being held in Police custody.
In a statement, Police said they were called by the Ambulance Service to the suspected stabbing at a home in St. Peter around 18:56 yesterday. Armed officers arrived at 19:05, and arrested the 40-year-old suspect.
The 68-year-old victim - who was known to the man - was taken to the hospital's Emergency Department, but died of her wounds.

Police say a murder investigation has now been launched. The Police and Honorary Police have secured the scene of the alleged crime.
Officials said no one else is being sought in relation to the investigation, adding that the victim's family had been made aware.
