Thursday 27 October 2016

Jersey Police have put out a renewed appeal for witnesses to an alleged murder last Friday night.

In particular the force are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the victim – 73-year-old John McCarthy – between 08:00 and 19:30.

Police have already carried out extensive investigations near to where Mr McCarthy was found – Vauxhall Gardens, Vauxhall Street, St Helier – but want to make sure they’ve been in touch with everyone who can help them.

The police can be reached on 612612, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers line – 0800 555 111.

A 51-year-old man, Michael Charles Brown was arrested near where Mr McCarthy was discovered and appeared in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday charged with murder.
