A 51-year-old painter and decorator has admitted committing manslaughter.
Brian McMahon appeared in the Royal Court to enter his plea to the single charge of manslaughter after inadvertently causing the death of Melvin Murphy.
Advocate James Bell, representing McMahon, indicated his client’s plea of ‘guilty’ for the Court.
Crown Advocate Richard Pedley, appearing for the prosecution, asked that McMahon was remanded in custody until his sentencing date in July.

The 51-year-old will be sentenced by a panel of five or more Jurats who only sit as the ‘Superior Number’ to hear the most serious of cases.
Advocate Bell made an application for bail, but ultimately the Court refused it and ordered for McMahon to be remanded in custody.
The case was heard by Jurats Olsen and Christensen. The Bailliff Timothy Le Cocq was presiding.
