Pair admit smuggling heroin into Jersey

A man and woman have admitted importing heroin into the island.

Michael Stephen Clohessy (44) and Tara-Lee Ashlyn Cowell (35) admitted importing the Class A drug on 24 October 2021 when they appeared in the Royal Court on Friday.

Cowell also pleaded guilty to importing the Class A cocaine and the class C drugs pregabalin and diazepam on the same date.

The pair will next appear in the Royal Court on 5 May, when they will be sentenced by its Superior Number.
