A 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested and released on police bail after a vehicle caught fire near the Morrisons store in Grands Vaux.
The fire took place on Sunday 13 June around 23:15 and is being treated as "suspicious" by the Police.
The Force said no one had been injured in the fire.
Officers are now seeking speak to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the Grands Vaux area around the time of the fire, as well as to anyone who may have more information about it.
They are particularly interested in hearing from a man, who was driving a white van, and who stopped and spoke to a witness in the area at around that time.
Police believe that a red plastic petrol canister (similar to the one pictured above) was used in this incident and are currently trying to locate the item as part of their investigation.
Anyone who may have seen or found one in the last few days has been asked to get in touch with the police on 612612 or contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form.
